The Cameron Parent Advisory Council has raised over $8000 to fund the purchase of an Oodle Swing for our playground. The Oodle Swing is a saucer swing similar to the one at Cameron Park, and it provides a larger seat and more stability for kids who might have trouble with regular swings. It can also fit 4-6 kids at once, promoting inclusive and group play. More information about the swing is available here.
We received a City of Burnaby Parks, Recreation and Cultural Commission grant of $4000 as well as a Canada Post Community Foundation grant of $2500 towards this purchase. The remaining funds were raised by the PAC through fundraisers like the chocolate sale.
If you are interested in getting involved in planning purchases like this for the school, or in seeking and applying for funding opportunities like these grants, please consider joining the PAC executive! Contact email@example.com for more information, or come to our next meeting!

The Cameron Parent Advisory Council (PAC) represents all parents and guardians of Cameron students. This year we are struggling to find enough parent volunteers to run our events.
We need you to get involved, or we may not be able to offer events like the Welcome Back BBQ and Multicultural Dinner next year, or make purchases for the school like iPads and projectors, science kits, library books, and buses for field trips.
Come to the next PAC meeting
to find out about all the ways the PAC contributes to the school, and how you can help.
If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to get involved, please contact us here
or email the Chair, Jen Zerkee at firstname.lastname@example.org

What does the PAC do?
Last year, we raised funds and contributed at least $9000 to the school by purchasing classroom resources, science kits, Cameron Cubs jerseys, portable projectors, library book, and music equipment, as well as transportation and snacks for school field trips and events. We also host a number of school community events during the year, such as the Welcome Back coffees and BBQ, Multicultural Dinner, Pancake Breakfast, and Staff Appreciation.
We need parent support to continue doing these things!
Without your help, we won’t be able to continue to contribute these things to the school community. The PAC welcomes all volunteers–we have one-time and ongoing opportunities, and roles that can accommodate any schedule. Visit the Get Involved page and watch for notices for current opportunities, and email email@example.com to be added to our volunteer email list.
The minutes from our final Parent Advisory Council meeting of the year are now available on the Minutes & Agendas page. These minutes include our finalized 2016-2017 budget, as well as our planned budget for 2017-2018.
The agenda for our last meeting of the year, on Tuesday, June 13 (7:00-9:00pm), is now available on the Minutes & Agendas page. Minutes from the May 11 AGM are also available.
